Minister of Interior Sar Kheng Receives 27 Australian Government Scholarship Winners

PHNOM PENH: A group of 27 Australian Government Scholarship winners to paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Interior, Sar Kheng, at the Ministry of Interior on Wednesday afternoon.

The scholarship student representatives thanked Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng for taking the time to meet with them and provide advice on the occasion leaving to study in Australia.

Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng warmly welcomed the students and congratulated them for their hard work in their studies which allowed them to receive scholarships to study in Australia. He also expressed his appreciation for the students’ efforts who, despite being working employees in the private sector and as civil servants, were able to show their academic capabilities and win scholarships. He added that these efforts reflect a strong will to seek knowledge and build their futures, as well as contribute to building the future of the nation.

The Deputy Prime Minister further expressed his hope that all students who received scholarships to study in Australia will continue their efforts until they succeed in their studies and bring this knowledge back to Cambodia to contribute to the development of the nation. He said to them, "As long as there is trying, there will be success."

The Australia Awards Scholarship is a prestigious international scholarship sponsored by the Australian Government with the aim of contributing to the long-term development needs of partner countries in accordance with global, bilateral and regional agreements.

The Australia Awards aims to support Cambodia's economic growth and contribute to strengthening cooperation between the peoples of the two countries. In addition, it provides opportunities for talented Cambodians to study, research and develop professionally, aiming to make a positive impact to their country, as well as to build careers that contribute to Cambodia's development needs in the future.
